Renewal codes are pretty rare, usually only if they send you one directly via email marketing. Most codes are for new services.

Transferring is pretty straightforward. You just need to get the authorisation code from your current registrar (123 Reg in your case) and then follow the steps on Easyspace. They have a guide for it.

I've used both. For just domains, they're pretty comparable honestly. Easyspace feels a bit less pushy with upsells than GoDaddy sometimes.

Mine came with a free SSL, yeah. You can always upgrade to a fancier one later if you need to, but the basic free one is usually good enough.

They do claim 24/7. I've used their support late at night before and got a response, though sometimes it's email not live chat depending on the issue.
